Welcome To:
High Country Early Intervention
Based in Prescott, Arizona, High
Country Early Intervention (H.C.E.I.)
serves children throughout Yavapai County.
HCEI has been in existence since June, 1996.
This non-profit organization currently provides family-focused services to families with children ranging in age from birth to three years who
experience developmental delays or disabilities.
H.C.E.I. directly provides early intervention services.
Speech
therapy, physical therapy, psychological and
audiology services are provided on a sub-contract basis.
Occupational and Music Therapy are now provided by our staff therapists. Children currently enrolled in our program are determined eligible
under the Arizona Early Intervention Program (AzEIP), and the Arizona Department of Developmental Disabilities (DDD). We also have provisions for children who may need intervention, but do not qualify for state funded programs.
Children are
screened and assessed through a local initial planning process to determine their AzEIP eligibility. AzEIP families are
referred to HCEI and assigned a service coordinator to assist in their ongoing services. Children and families may also be eligible for our services
through the Department of Developmental Disabilities. Your DDD support coordinator will inform you of the eligible services for you and your child. These programs are state funded, so income is not an issue when determining
eligibility.
During the initial home visit the EI and the
parents may determine to which, if any, therapy services the child
may be referred.
Children receive weekly home visits, unless the parents request a
different schedule or location of services. Therapy occurs both in
the clinic setting and in the child's home. It is important to note
that H.C.E.I. is family focused, so not only do we teach the
child, we teach the family. Families served reside in all of Yavapai
County.
