A message from the Executive Director to our families…..

2011

Children are our most precious asset, each capable of incredible growth. We understand that the family unit is the nurturing body that guides the growth of our children.  At High Country Early Intervention, Inc. (HCEI, Inc.) we understand the challenges a family can face when their child may need some assistance in participating in daily routines.  Since 1996, the dedicated staff of HCEI, Inc. have devoted their time and expertise to working collaboratively with families who have children, aged birth to three years, who experience developmental disabilities/delays.

As a team, we work closely together and with each family based on the family’s concerns, priorities, resources, and needs.  Our team consists of a Service Coordinator, Developmental Specialist, Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist, Speech Therapist and the family.  Best practices in the field of Early Intervention support this team based model.  In this model, one member of the team serves as the Team Lead and, in addition to the Service  Coordinator , has the primary contact with the family.  With the understanding that children learn best in natural occurring settings, the goal of Early Intervention is to coach the family in strategies to assist them in enhancing their child’s development and participation in everyday activities.

Our compassionate, trained staff work from a family-centered perspective providing services built on mutual respect and parent input.  We recognize the parent as the expert related to their child.  Our staff holds to the believe that each family is unique and deserves to have that uniqueness reflected and respected in the services that are offered.  HCEI, Inc. encourages parent feedback and involvement related to all aspects of our program delivery.

As director of HCEI, Inc., I am always available to talk with a family member regarding their child’s development and the support and services they are receiving.  Each family and child’s experience at HCEI, Inc. should be as rewarding to them as it is to the dedicated and skilled staff of HCEI, Inc.

Sincerely,

Debra Veit, Ph.D.
