High Country Early Intervention's Professional Child Services
The
family identifies services that address their daily routines, resources,
needs and priorities to assist them in enhancing their child's development.
A member of the HCEI staff provides these services in the home
or another natural environment. These services include:
Service
Coordination: A service coordinator (SC) will be assigned for each family. The
SC's role is to assist the family in securing and coordinating services
they have determined are needed to aide them in enhancing their
child's development.
Special
Instruction: Provided by an early intervention specialist (EIS). Special instruction
is a set of activities identified by the team to assist the family
in helping their child participate in the family's daily routines
and relate to the child's development.
Speech
and Language Therapy & Consultation: Therapeutic services encourage the child's speech and language development
and are related to the family's priorities and needs. More

Physical
Therapy & Consultation: Therapeutic services encourage the child's gross motor development
(rolling over, sitting, walking, etc.) and are related to the family's

Occupational
Therapy & Consultation:Therapeutic
services encourage the child's fine motor development (using hands,
feeding, dress, etc.) and are related to the family's priorities

Psychological
Evaluation & Consultation:At
the family's request, a licensed psychologist reviews and assesses
the child's social and emotional development. A consultation visit
with the family is included.
Vision
& Audiology Services: Address hearing and vision evaluations to determine if the child
is eligible for ongoing services.
